Prior to launching The Doug Spong Co., he was the founder, president and managing partner of public relations firm Spong and its parent advertising agency Carmichael Lynch. Both owned by global holding company Interpublic Group.
In his 25 years there, he created the culture that attracted the talent that produced the work that yielded the wealth for some of the world’s best brands.

Doug is hell-bent on setting the high-water mark in anything and everything he does. What’s he done so far? Well, he’s earned the highest individual honor known to PR humankind: the PRSA Gold Anvil Award for lifetime achievement. Since the 1940s, only one of these is handed out each year.
